4.1 Triangle Intoduction

What fun we had today! We started out Triangle Unit which will take us through the end of the semester. 4.1 Triangle introduction gave taught us how to classify triangles by angles (BM 21) and sides and the EXTREMELY important concept that all the angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees (BM 19). The homework is #30 page 198 #10-15, 17-43 (odd), 57-62. We did play Me Vs. You and with each class winning, the actual homework assignments varied. Way to go!

Coming Up: Grade Reports and Chapter 3 Test on our next block!

Also, BM 19 and 21 on Triangles, as well as retakes for 15-17 on Monday!

Posting for points question:

This is an easy one. . . Give 2 angles of a triangle and find the third. Then classify the triangle by the angles and sides.

No time for anything

Did you ever have one of those days where you didn’t have time for anything? October has been 31 days like that for me. Both school and work related workshops- both participating in and presenting, implementation of Moodle, and tons of benchmarks! And then there’s my family life from sick kids and even the death of my grandfather.

You may have noticed the blog was never updated. I have now added and back-dated last weeks blog entries so you can post your comments in time for the end of the grading period. Thanks for understanding.

Coming Up: Grade Reports, HW Packets and Chapter 3 Test on Second Block

Posting for Points Question:

Rotate a set of points (3 to be exact) 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise and give the new coordinates. Don’t for get your primes!

Review of Transformations

Depending on the class depends on what we did. Since I was out last week for Period 5, we quickly revisited Transformations (BM 15-17). For homework, another 2 assignments- #28 Chapter 3 Cumulative Review and #29 Transformations 2 WS.

For the even classes, I was away for a funeral so the in-class assignment is #28 and the homework is #29.

Coming Up:

  • BM 9-11, 13-17 on Monday 10/29
  • Chapter 3 Test on Second Block (11/1-2)
  • Grade Report #2 Due Second Block, too

Posting for Points Question:

We have done A LOT of review for chapter 3. What concepts are you still having problems with? Use the reviews for help.

Benchmark Exam

The first part of the class was spent doing a quick review of our Review from Monday. We then went into the Benchmark Exam. This exam is to see where we are as a class and individually to and give some direction where we need to go before our final exam. Nothing else!

Posting for points question:

In your opinion, what was the hardest part of the test?
